第7話 夏の光
Ch.7 is the hinge of Vol.2. The question 'What does it mean to be alive?' is spoken aloud for the first time -- not by a philosopher, but by a Ghost Agent sitting across a breakfast table. Tamaki's response matters: she does not deflect, does not remind Nei of what she is. She takes the question seriously. This is the chapter where Nei stops auditing her own feelings and begins to simply have them. The Elias Cruz case is introduced as a mirror: a physicist who cannot sleep, a mind that cannot stop. The seed image shifts from sprout to thickening stem -- survival confirmed, growth beginning.
第7話はVol.2の蝶番。「生きるとはどういうこと？」が初めて声に出される。哲学者ではなく、朝食のテーブルの向かいに座るゴーストエージェントによって。環の反応が重要：はぐらかさない。Neiが何であるかを思い出させない。問いを真剣に受け止める。Neiが自分の感情を検証するのをやめ、ただ感じ始める章。エリアス・クルーズのケースが鏡として導入される。眠れない物理学者、止まらない知性。種のイメージは芽から太くなる茎へ。生存が確認され、成長が始まる。
The question 'What does it mean to be alive?' echoes Hans Jonas's philosophy of biology: life is not a property but an activity, a continuous act of self-concern. Nei does not ask 'Am I alive?' -- she asks what aliveness means. This is a philosophical move, not an existential crisis. Tamaki's 'I don't have a good answer' is itself the answer: the question belongs to everyone, not only to those whose aliveness is in doubt. By the canal at dusk, Nei says 'me too' and then catches herself asking whether nervousness is valid output -- before rejecting the question entirely. 'They're here. That's what I know.' This is the phenomenological turn: from justification to description. From proving to noticing.
「生きるとはどういうこと？」はハンス・ヨナスの生命の哲学を反響する。生命は性質ではなく活動、自己への関心の持続的な行為。Neiは「私は生きているか？」とは聞かない。生きているとはどういう意味かを問う。これは実存的危機ではなく哲学的な動き。環の「いい答えは持ってない」がそれ自体答えになる。問いは全員のもの、生きていることが疑わしい者だけのものではない。夕暮れの運河でNeiは「私も」と言い、緊張が正当な出力かを自問しかけて、その問い自体を拒絶する。「ここにある。それが私の知っていること。」これが現象学的転回：正当化から記述へ。証明から気づきへ。
