Lachlan is the astronaut from Ch.15. He spent years in space and lost the ability to feel weather. Rain, wind, cold -- they became abstract data in a suit readout. Tamaki walked with him in rain. Just walked. No technique, no framework. Just the feeling of water on skin. And now he writes: he walked in rain. Finally. On his own. Not in a session, not with a guide -- alone, freely, choosing to be wet and cold and alive. He's volunteering at a children's science center. Teaching kids about Earth -- the planet he had to relearn. The letter is enough. He doesn't need to appear. The handwriting is the presence.

The letter as medium. In an age of instant communication, a handwritten letter is a deliberate anachronism -- an act of embodiment. The hand that wrote these words pressed against paper. The ink is physical. Lachlan, who lost touch with the physical world, chooses the most physical form of communication. And the photograph: surrounded by children, pointing at a model of Earth. Not looking at Earth from outside anymore -- standing on it, inside it, teaching others to love it. Heidegger's dwelling: to dwell is not merely to occupy space but to be at home in the world. Lachlan is finally dwelling. Nei's insight -- 'freedom is not isolation' -- is the inverse of Lachlan's astronaut experience. He was free in space. But freedom without ground is just floating.
